Delivery of packages by UAVs will mean more than just ultrafast delivery times – it will also mean reduced congestion, minimized environmental impact, less wear-and-tear on our nation’s infrastructure, and prompt delivery of life-saving supplies in emergency situations.

The goal of Amazon Prime Air’s new delivery system is to get packages into customers’ hands in 30 minutes or less using unmanned aerial vehicles.

Amazon Prime Air has begun private trials in England, and the first customer delivery by drone recently took place.

On March 28 2015, Flirtey delivery drones were put into action to deliver medical supplies to Land Search and Rescue. The trial was sponsored by Trade Me, the largest online marketplace in New Zealand.
